Sunny skies made a perfect setting for The Southsider Voice’s cruise-in on Friday evening.
More than 50 classic cars and hot rods and new sports cars were proudly displayed in the Beck Service Center parking lot on the southeast corner of Madison and Edgewood avenues, and Paul Rippy provided nostalgic cruisin’ tunes.
Free fried chicken, green beans and macaroni and cheese – all deliciously prepared by the folks at Ponderosa on Emerson Ave. – were served, thanks to sponsors Ziebart and Dan Shine. Special thanks to AC Tucker for recommending Ponderosa.
The cruise-ins start at 6 p.m. the first Friday of each month from May through October.
