Richard Jaggers is no stranger to the cruising scene and a regular participant in The Southsider Voice’s monthly Cruise-In’s.
Jagger is well-experienced when it comes to custom hot-rods and gets as much enjoyment displaying them for all to enjoy as he does driving them. He’s had rods that finished in the Top-30 in the World of Wheels.
After serving in the U.S. Air Force, it became Richard and his wife Maxine’s passion in finding, building, customizing, cruising and proudly displaying his custom hot-rods. Without placing a firm number off the top of his head, he estimates over the years he’s easily owned enough to come close to filling a decent sized parking lot similar to Beck’s Service Center.
His latest acquisition came over this past winter. It’s a total custom-made 1939 Chevy Coupe with less than 7,000 miles.
Although a Chevy, there’s very little relating this car to its origins. The Chevy body sits atop a 1928 Ford frame. It has a Chevy 350 4-barrel engine with headers feeding dual side exhausts. The engine is coupled to a Turbohydramatic 3-speed automatic transmission. Unique Upholstery finished the interior complete with a new top.
Richard is a regular at car shows and cruise-ins throughout Central Indiana. If you see Richard next to this car or one of his others be sure and chat with him about them.
